If you’re looking for a beach house getaway just a stone’s throw from the seaside, then you have to check out Good Karma in Swakopmund, Namibia. This stunning beach house combines all the comforts of a high-end stay with the relaxed vibe of a coastal haven. You know how much Josh and I love finding spots that offer both family-friendly amenities and easy access to the beach – and Good Karma ticks all the boxes!
This stunning six-sleeper beach house is honestly a gem. With three beautiful bedrooms, each with its own en-suite, it’s perfect for a family trip or a getaway with friends. After a long day of exploring or just chilling by the sea, everyone can retreat to their own private space – which is always a win when you’re travelling in a group. And the open-plan kitchen, spacious living area, and indoor braai room (complete with a pizza oven!) make it such a fun and cosy place to hang out together.
What really blew us away, though, was the attention to detail. The host has thought of everything. From freshly baked bread, butter, and homemade jam waiting for you when you arrive, to complimentary drinks in the bar fridge – you feel so welcomed right from the start. And for us, it’s the little things like quality toiletries, a proper coffee machine (vital for our early mornings), and loads of wood for the indoor fireplace and braai that just make it that much better.
And let’s talk about location – the beach is literally 300 metres from the house! Whether it’s an early morning walk, an afternoon swim, or a family picnic, the ocean is right there. There’s even an outdoor shower to rinse off after the beach, a fish cleaning station for the anglers, and a herb garden to add some fresh flavour to your meals. The house has all the essentials, like WiFi and TV, and there’s even an office space if you need to squeeze in some work. But honestly, with a spot like this, you’ll probably want to switch off completely!
They’ve really thought of everything, from a laundry room to an onsite car wash and even loads of beach day supplies you can use – no stress, just pack your bags and go. But one of the most unique parts of Good Karma has to be the underground cellar experience. You can enjoy a platter and drinks while hearing about a fascinating bit of history that’s connected to the house. Normally, it’s an optional extra, but if you book before the end of November 2024, it’s included in your stay – how cool is that?
At R7600 per night for up to six people, this house is honestly a dream for families or groups looking to enjoy Namibia’s coastline. It’s that perfect mix of relaxation and adventure, with enough personal touches to make you feel right at home.
If, like us, you love family-friendly stays and can’t resist being close to the beach, you need to add Good Karma to your travel list! We’d 100% recommend it – you won’t be disappointed.
