This gorgeous open plan bungalow comfortably sleeps two and feels like a dreamy countryside escape from the moment you walk in. Think old sandstone walls, curated antiques, vintage lighting, soft linens and a cosy indoor fireplace that makes you want to stay in your pyjamas all morning. The king sized bed is incredibly comfy and fitted with electric blankets for those chilly Clarens evenings, and the bungalow has a full kitchen, TV with Netflix, a walk in shower, and stacking doors that open onto a private balcony with a braai, outdoor seating and mountain views. It is peaceful, romantic and wonderfully private.

One of the biggest highlights of staying at Belle Vie is the incredible private cave, waterfall and hiking trail that belongs exclusively to guests on the property. It is such a unique experience and honestly unlike anything else you’ll find in Clarens. We highly recommend making your morning coffee and taking a gentle walk to the cave where you can sit under the overhang and listen to the water tumble down. It is pure magic and one of the most memorable things we did during our stay. 😍💦

The bungalow forms part of The Holkrans, a historic 19th century sandstone estate that has been beautifully restored and reimagined as a serene countryside retreat. The property sits beneath iconic sandstone cliffs and is filled with indigenous gardens, old growth trees, sweeping mountain views and a deep sense of history. Clarens town is only a 5 minute drive away and is overflowing with incredible restaurants, cafés, art galleries, boutique shops and local gems. You can explore the town, grab a bite to eat or wander through the craft market, then come home to your peaceful bungalow tucked away beneath the cliffs.
